Oregon DoGooders Strike Again, Taxpayers Lose

Baby-in-Water

HB 2321 the Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Program gives the Department of Fish & Wildlife (DOFW) a new tool for obtaining revenue from Oregonians. The 2017 HB 2321 bill has been amended to remove any ambiguity small kids may have regarding their obligation to obtain proper water permits when interacting with Oregonian public water facilities. The law gives authorities power to write citations when drain plugs aren’t removed from boats when exiting water facilities. And, in the event a driver does not stop for inspection, law enforcement is authorized to make vehicle owners return for inspection if within 5 miles of the evading offense.

Not only are boaters required to remove drain plugs, they can also be sited for allowing water to gather in their ballast tanks, motorwells, bilges and more. Because of this, inspections are required to ensure no water vehicle leaving any facility has any standing water. HB 2321 applies to the young beginning at age 14. The Act requires all non-motorized craft users to pay permit fees along with an agent fee for the permit. The law was created and will be enforced as the State of Oregon wants to ensure invasive species of aquatic life remain in their native pastures & aren’t transported or moved to non-indigenous areas.

Oregonians not familiar with mudsnail facts, Quaqqa mussel facts and others can read the published documentation on why such species should not be allowed to spread giving readers more confidence in understanding why the new law is needed. Punishment for failing to comply carries a maximum penalty of 30 days in jail and/or a $ 1,250 fine. Because of this new law the Oregon State Marine Board (OSMB) is expecting new revenues to exceed 300K to 500K Biennium during the onset of the program. Because of this financial boon the state is requesting an additional law enforcement position be approved to help with enforcement activities.

During a scuffle at a waterway a child with a soda cap full of water was interrogated by local authorities for not obtaining permission for having an-uninspected cap of standing water. When the kids parents came over to intervene the officer said Mam you have water in your mouth I’m going to have to site you for a violation. Then the officer said Sir you have water in your pants, I’ll have to site you as well. Then the mother reached over grabbed her husband’s private parts and said he’s hung, that’s not water, don’t write him a ticket for that you prick.

House Republicans Disgusted with Trumps Administration

Picture of Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers R-WA 150x150

For Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and other party members the Republican “Six Big Ideas” plan is hanging in the balance. Amongst Trumps never ending drama Republicans see distraction as the new normal. The political climate demonstrates Congress nor can the Executive Branch accomplish much in a distraction laden environment.

In fact a republican house floor sweeper was overheard (listening device left from the Obama Administration) saying there’s a lot more shit in these corridors for me to pick up with this new administration.

Republicans want to focus on “The American Dream”, ” National Security”, “Bailouts”, “Executive Power”, “Obamacare Replacement” and “Tax Reform.” With this new agenda in hand Republicans have created a “Better Way Booklet” for all Americans to read and pledge too.

On The American Dream, Republicans want lower wage work and lower wage jobs expanded, to increase crime legislation and remove voting rights, reduce school programs, increase national debt and demand taxpayers pay for it.

On National Security, Republicans want to give more terrorists weapons, fight more proxy wars, create more terrorist threats and reduce freedom around the world.

On the Economy and Bailouts, Republicans want to remove regulations, expand coal and oil usage, increase privatizing profits and nationalizing loss, but wait there’s more, they want to increase student debt, remove net neutrality laws and change tort law to benefit corporations.

On Executive Power, Republicans want limited power when democrats are in office and expanded powers when Republicans are in office, except Donald Trump.

On Obamacare, Republicans want more sick and dying, according to an undisclosed source House Republicans can reduce the budget, improve environmental conditions by allowing more Americans to die that don’t have health coverage.

On Tax Reform, Republicans want more complexity, corporate and executive write offs, no more mortgage deductions and a flat tax. Maybe this plan is a Democrat and Republican cooperative, it resembles their actions over the last few decades? More can be found at https://www.gop.gov/six-big-ideas-better-way-agenda/

No Bills just Coins and bigger pockets needed for U.S. Taxpayers

Picture of Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Mike Enzi (R-WY)

Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Mike Enzi (R-WY) introduced ‘The COINS ACT”. The brainstorm of these two geniuses is to obsolete the dollar bill replacing it with a coin. In addition, the bill will put an end to penny mining. These and other currency optimization changes will purportedly save tax payers billions.

In a statement to the press the senators said “Americans have become week, having pockets full of heavy coins will make them strong again, it’ll also make them want to gamble boosting states revenues.” In the Q&A session a reporter asked, “Won’t this have adverse effects on people’s health?” The senators chimed in saying “Congress plans to break their backs sooner rather than later – so why delay?”

This reintroduced proposal has been endorsed by the Council for Citizens Against Waste (CCAGW) which is a lobbying arm of Citizens Against Government Waste one of the largest purported nonpartisan, nonprofit organizations in the United States. 2017 Omnibus Appropriations Bill Delivers More Goodies to Republicans and Democrats

Picture of Senators-Leahy-and-Cochran

In a press conference Senators Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) of the Senate Appropriation Committee gave themselves and their piers high marks for Omnibus Bill passage. Without Omnibus passage government shutdown would have been imminent damaging a sluggish economy that grew less than 2% in the 1st quarter.

However, by avoiding government shutdown America’s national debt will continue to rise, seemingly pleasing both Democrats and Republicans. In a statement Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) said “this bill allocates so much revenue to new programs it’s going to be hard spending it all but we’ll do our best.”

In a separate statement Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D-NY) said “I can’t wait to spend, it’s like xMas all over again, the bill even sets aside funds to eliminate Puerto Rico’s debt, who could ask for more?” Probably the American taxpayer could ask for more but responses to bill passage have been nonexistent. Perhaps in this bipartisan atmosphere taxpayers are happy taking it in the shorts from big business and government?
